  • If I don't, the negotiations for buying the car become much more difficult. I've won approval for the idea by offering to (re)teach her drive, and this would be a sticking point.

  • £400 spent on BSM instead, once she gets a full licence then black box the 190, or get her a micra

by which time you can really piss her off when you buy a cervelo..

  • Let's see what Adrian Flux say tomorrow. I'm currently trying to persuade her that the 190 is a suitable first car for her. If I suggest she finds something else to learn to drive in that's another spanner in the works. I asked her to find a suitable alternative and she found a Yaris with 100k on the clock, and a 14 year old Audi A2. That's how crucial this situation is.

That said, a TDI Audi A3 could turn my head.

  • she's obviously not the one

  • U wot m8? When she said I could use the joint account to buy a 26 year old car I thought I'd won the lottery!

  • fuel pump relay

  • A2s are pretty boss, but they're no 190

  • They look like piglets

  • At idle but not at WOT? Pls to show working

  • doesn't throw up a fault code because not monitored, unlike sensors which are, plus I cheated > http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showpost.php?s=4b3af083f30c3eb0dd0d53f0a68d2e7b&p=170796&postcount=3 < google, it's a useful tool, try using it sometime ;p

  • Tommmmmmmmm.
Insure the car first. Then add her as a named driver later. That worked for me on my old Rover. Couldn't get the policy unless the main driver had 2 years of licence, but one I had it it was a tenner admin fee to add anyone I wanted.

Try a classic specialist - Peter Best, Lancaster, or someone.
For my merc Admiral was the best quote.

  • I can swap the relay, probably a good thing to do anyway.

However- with regards to the cps, what sort of temp do you think it would see when in the conditions I describe?

Keen to find the specific issue, not just change all the things.

  • not a volvo owner, but found the thread from which the single post comes very interesting; they go into much more detail > http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=27626

  • Made some progress on my Gti, new genuine wings purchased, 1 fits perfectly and the other is a mess :(

Also new springs, pads and discs.

  • could be good, did you see last weekend's 'for the love of cars'? they were creating a VW golf rally replica, twas a good watch > http://www.channel4.com/programmes/for-the-love-of-cars/on-demand/60243-003

  • I've been looking into Citroen CX's recently as I've always wanted a DS or SM, but they're getting too pricey and rare.

Anyone ever had any experience with em? I've heard (like most French cars of this age) that they can be total rust buckets - but that they are also incredibly comfortable innovative cruisers. Also - they look freakin' awesome!

  • I love them. Too much work to get one that is affordable though.

  • Yes. Yes. Yes.

A nice early one would be best.

I have many children so have secured 1st dibs on a mate's Familiale when he comes to sell :

  • Bought it?

  • Tidy looking.

  • Sure that's not a veng panel ;)

  • Get a DS, at least the DS were made in slough and have a cult following and you can still get all the suspension rebuild parts. 'Mine' lands on in September and will see how bad it is.

Or buy one from south africa, right hand drive built from kits, rust free if you buy the right one. Saying that I saw a cs sport estate while in france that was in a breakers year as well as a 104 convertable....now that made me think... Also saw an Honda s800, nice tr3a, at a garage near the N10 by Paris....

  • Picking this baby up on Saturday!!
