I'm 5ft10 with a 30" inseam, 17.5 inch frame sound about right? Ie the cotic medium.
You could go either way - 17.5 for an XC racey set-up or 16" for a more nimble trail bike.
Try and get the version with the tapered headtube - options for straight 1 1/8th aren't what they used to be, especially for medium travel trail.
I'm going to be selling a load of 26" stuff in the not too distant future so if you are after bits and bobs hit me up. I also have a 16" alloy frame for sale for cheaps but it looks like you have your heart set on steel.

Cotic soul frames look great! Looking to spend as little as possible so yeah around £250 max for a frameset. I think I'll wait till the right cotic frame comes up and have a bid.

Also the steel voodoo frames look the part but are they really any good?
