If you can get a friend to house sit, absolutely the best option. Or it would be with my cat anyway, he hates going anywhere (apart from my girlfriend's parents' house) that isn't home. We've done both, as well as dropped him off with friends and its never been as good as just getting a mate to stay for a few days.
