Until the ride has been run a few times I would prefer participants gpx trails and strava data to remain private.
I would encourage you and your friend to try make this date and the Grain ride. They are both quick but social, with the only stipulations being don't bring a badly-maintained bicycle or a bad attitude.
The Southend and Grain routes have multiple bail-out stations at decent intervals. Also the nature of some of the paths we'll use will lower speed often enough to allow recovery.
