• Haven't HPI'd it yet but that's definitely something I'll do before going any further. Is there anywhere particularly recommended for that or is the DVLA one just the standard?

    I wanted a diesel I could run on veg oil but this one seems like a much better deal than most around, and the normal problem areas are all spotless. It sat in a shed for most of the last 10 years, doing 3,000 miles since 2006, but has an MOT till next year and runs really nicely.

  • Careful as there might be outstanding fines or something on it.

    May cost to get a new v5 and then the owner might come out of the wood work. Do you trust the guy you are buying it from?

  • I've done the HPI check and there are no fines or ownership issues and the owner has the original V5/2 or whatever for the change of owner details which means there's no charge to register it in my name now.

    The guy seems legit, I know where he lives, works and what he drives and he is going to give me the name and address of the guy he bought it from as well just in case there is any trouble.

    I've definitely talked myself into it by now. Already looked for lowering springs...
