  • @jdp I haven't (I don't have a Dakota 10 anymore) but it was easy enough to get a gpx file off it I seem to remember, maybe using Basecamp. It's more of a faff than using an Edge though so if you're planning to do it regularly it could get annoying.

    I'm not sure whether it would auto-upload to the Garmin Connect website (it's all changed now) in which case you can link that to Strava.

  • To use strava etc with the dakota and etrex series is fairly simple no need for any third party programs or add ons etc etc.
    Use the upload actvity from file option.
    With your device plugged in navigate to the archive folder or other folder as appropriate and select the requisite gpx file.
    For info the etrex series start recording as soon as they are powered up, at the end of a ride you have the option of saving the current track, this will be saved to the archive folder with the current date and time.
    If you do not save the ride it will be saved automatically at the end of the day if you have the data options set to auto archive daily. There are other auto archive options such as weekly or when the track log is full.
