Just finished building up a new beater as my bright yellow nago Cx bike is very fun but very conspicuous....
Sirius lopro frame in 753 OS tubing as spare parts stuff for the rest: single ring chorus crank, xenon rear mech, 7spd shimano single shifter, old suntour wheels on mavic M3cd rims, 7400 dura ace calipers etcetc.
Pretty nippy, will wait and see what it's like hunched over with heavy backpack on ...

One of those bottle cages might be a bit tricky to use

Nice frame and build :D

Cobbled together from parts bin to make a call to keep or to sell. If keep, then better parts, obv.
T'is a bloody lovely frame (14bike co, made by Lee Cooper) which makes it even possible to contemplate keeping a too big bike...

Is that frame pre-owned by Dave Hemming the 90's Mtb'er?

Inky hands?
Like you've molested a squid?
Haha
Hopefully not
although the mental image is rather arrestingI'll try and remember to give a 1000 mile update on practicality/comfort/appearance
(if I've not torn it all orff in anger before then) -

I will think about it. ;-)
Looks like a PR6000 but indeed misses the yellow and red bits. Can't wait to see it.

How's the singlering setup working out for you? I am thinking about doing that to my current roadbike as I am downgrading parts on it. But fearing chain will drop a lot...

No idea tbh- i bought it from @getoutofbed here: http://www.lfgss.com/conversations/264017/#comment12146880 so maybe he knows?

It's fine, the derailleur is doing enough tensioning to keep it on but the BB is longer than i'd like so it's a bit noisy which doesn't help that.
The cup of the appropriate sized BB i've got is threaded and I'm trying to find a new one so with the right chainline I think it will be perfect; I'd just be careful with making sure the chain is the right size as even an extra link can make the difference.

thanks for the kind words-a pair of compact drops on your build will help with the fit but a big bike will always be a big bike... I dunno if I'd want my knackers so close to the top tube!
What's the gearing btw? Looks pretty meaty!

I've got 99 problems...but knackers & top tube collision risk isn't one :p
50*18 so it's not too bad. Took it out for a spin today, it does seem a bit long for me...great ride otherwise, very stable feels like something you can cycle with no hands easily. Lee Cooper has built a bucket of touring bikes, used to make frames for Thorn, so that's no surprise in a way.
Love the paint on yours, what happened to mad 90s paintjobs of nearly all bikes :'(

Do you know the guys making these frames? Was this batch one or two?

@Tijs, according to some info I found on Retrobike-forum, the bike I've bought should be a 1991 Team bike. It has serial number MO-01-91 so that could be possible because there was a guy named Marc van Orsouw riding for the team. The steerer-extender and headset are exactly the same as the one on Retrobike. I guess the frame has been resprayed or something.
Will post more photos later today in a separate "conversation" in Current Projects.

what would people choose - shimano 105 5800 or sram rival 22 for roughly the same price?

It's been a spring of tinkering but summer is here and my stable is finally complete
Work bike:
Race bike:
Everything else bike:
progress being made, wheels now built and cables purchased, routing to be revised !
whole steerer area is a work in progress looking for some nice straight risers and a nicer stem then working up the courage to cut the steerer ( not too short not too short not too short )
