  • So Severn Across?

I found it blowy on the way out.. My partner arrived slightly late so we never found a big group to ride in. Fueling worked well though. Felt like packing in at Chepstow at 4pm because it was so late t carried on. Glorious 4 hours from the bridge until it got dark, then a bit of a struggle home. Not really sure what time we finished but somewhere around 22 hours for 415km.

Ash, lovely to see you again. Hippy, was that you on a planet x bike or did I just never see you.

    Lessons Learnt

    1. I need to go quicker
    2. I need to start on time
    3. I need to read the route ahead of starting
    4. Learn how to "unlock touch screen" on Garmin
    5. Have better lights

Right, I'm off to sell my bike and take up basket weaving.

Organisers were fantastic and cheese toastie at the end awesome

  • I was on a (currently very filthy) PX Stealth TT bike, yes. I rode out from home and started late (again) so probably rode by at some stage, unless you were very late starting?
I only ever recognise a couple of people though - Ray, Mike from WCC and Frank from Westerley.
Harder work than I expected, that. I'm pretty battered today.

  • Yep, saw you, you said Hi. You wouldn't recognise me (though I was wearing a dapper forum Jersey).

Likewise, harder than I expected, I think because of the wind and my riding partner not really being on form so we rode slower than I would have liked, meaning I was awake for longer than optimal given how much I need my beauty sleep.
