• I'm planning to purchase a small front porteur rack and have a WALD basket (or something similar) strapped to it.

Now I dont' have any brake bosses, and only a calliper brack with no eyelets on the fork whatsoever. Could I use p-clips to replace the brake bosses, has anybody experience doing this?

  • Swap the fork, while you might be able to rig up something that works for a short while if it slips at all ever and falls into/onto the wheel you are going over the bars.

I have one of these myself and a blackburn mtf style one that mounts the same way, mounting onto mudguard mounts or whatever they are at the lower end of the fork is lots better than that one you linked too(I had one before and all that happened was the bolts on the right angle bits by the brake bosses undo from vibrations/use and it falls all over the place).

  • I run a nitto m18 rack on my road bike. It attached onto the forks with p-clips and also behind the brake calliper. Haven't had any problems for the 6months or so I have been running it. I also have a wald basket which I just zip tie on. Here are some pics of the setups

  • Isn't it better to have a rack that goes down to the front axle? Someone somewhere must sell a nice one.

  • soma porteur connects to the axel. but its pretty £££ and not as pretty as the VO one.
