  • I've use an 88mm generic rim on my TT bike (front with genuine FFWD disc rear) and have had no issues but was wondering if anyone's got any experience of using 88mm generic wheels on the track? Only for SQT's for now but maybe a little racing.
Budget as ever is my restriction.
    Cheers Jon.

  • I use 88mm tubs for racing. Mainly because I couldn't afford a decent disc wheel at the time of purchase. They're fine for indoor use. If I'm racing outdoors and its a bit windy it's probably a good idea to have some shallower rims too.

If you're only going to be training, what is the point of spending more than you have too? I train on heavier, less aero wheels. It makes me feel faster when I use my nice wheels for racing. :)
