I have to ask though, why Burnt Oak?
Build it and they will come. It mainly depends, I think, on finding the venue. Land in London is expensive and scarce, so Fred snapped this up.
Yes, Burnt Oak seems a little out of the way compared to Bermondsey, which is in reach of the commute of many more people, and also near a gym. However I think this will be a destination, perhaps more people will make the trip at weekends or when they have time off for a longer climb. Also, I have spoken to some of the residents in the block above the space and they are really excited about the idea. Some people have no idea what a "climbing wall" is but like the sound of it. The arch does a fair bit of teaching with kids so that might take a bigger role here, it will be something fun in an area with tesco and a merc garage and not much else. I'm optimistic.
YEAH BOIIIII! My endz!
I have to ask though, why Burnt Oak? It's not really the most....sporting of areas, having spent most of my teenhood causing chaos there.
Edit: Really excited about this.
