can someone please put my mind at rest and confirm that I definitely don't have to use a tail light?
Look at the start sheet; some exceptionally stupid District Committees allow promoting clubs to insist on lights and/or helmets as Special Conditions, but all deviations from default regulations must be listed on the start sheet.
Tail lights provide a negligible safety benefit, but an even smaller performance penalty. On balance, you might as well have one on your TT bike just in case.
My first CTT open TT tomorrow, can someone please put my mind at rest and confirm that I definitely don't have to use a tail light? The hand book says it is strongly recommended, as is a helmet.
