Hows the braking?
-
• #3603
I only have aluminium to compare to, but braking seems fine in the dry, average in the wet, but I don't use in rain. I suppose they are on a par with all low cost carbon rims, for all they are are branded imports, with a mark up for the UK handling.

Anyone know anything about "mosso" forks?
-
• #3605
I had one a few time ago on my pompino. Very reliable. Not a single problem with it.

So I come back, wanna ask you if someone has a link for chinese stiff 50mm tubular wheels... Thanks
-
• #3607
Get some ACE U-shaped tubular rims. They have a heavily reinforced spoke bed compared to most.

• #3608
Has anyone had any luck sourcing 1 inch carbon forks from Chinese sellers?
-
• #3609
Ordered some '700C 50mm x 25mm full carbon clincher wheelset with Chris King r45 hub' from aliexpress, should be arriving next week hopefully. =)

• #3610
also intrigued by this
-
• #3611
Sound nice :-) How much ££?
-
• #3612
With DHL delivery just under £900 for the wheelset.
-
• #3613
you ordered Chris Kings from Aliexpress?
-
• #3614
Is this for the beater?!
-
• #3615
Probably end up with 'Khris Queen'
-
• #3616
This will be for the 'special occasion' bike (crackyon)
-
• #3617
Wouldn't be much more expensive to order the rims and get them built up by a trusted wheel builder here, would it?
-
• #3618
Not that I want to piss on your chips, but I reckon I'd have done that.
-
• #3619
True. But I've ordered wheels from china before, yes the component quality might be in question at times (from personal experience). However, all the wheels are pretty true as f*** and from most wheelbuilders I've talk to they're pretty happy their buildability.
I will take these wheels to be look at before I ride them though properly.

thirded, quiet interest in 1" china carbon forks here too
-
• #3621
anyone got an opinion on the carbon wheels with basalt braking surface? Does it actually make a difference?
-
• #3622
Yes.
-
• #3623
Sumo> me too
-
• #3624
I really want a 1" inch carb fork too, pretty impossible to get thought
-
• #3625
I've trawled Ali express for 1 " forks and nothing:(
Thought there might be some copies of Columbus minimalist or those tifosi ones...
If you have bottled the import route and want [some] assurance of a UK importer + relatively low cost, then I can recommend the Fuerte Bici wheels.

Although I think they hold some stock, I ordered 50mm clinchers w/white hubs which seemed to be special order so took 6 weeks to arrive. Very pleased with them, appear good quality, lightish weight and contemporary profile eg seem pretty good in cross wind.
