• In if numbers

  • Out

  • anyone playing on saturday, if so what court

  • IF it happens it is most likely be at Newington Gardens SE1

Big IF as the court at Herne Hill was blown over due to the winds for the past few days and we should be dismantling and securing the site over the weekend instead.

  • alright thanks

  • Yeah lets take this court on sat and sunday before HH people get more angry ,,

  • appaz the court is fucked

    im in for newt sat

  • potentially my last London session until the Winter!!

  • There's not much of a working party crew ATM for this weekend. We need bodies to clear up and the faster we get this done, we can then move on with the new court(s) and get the monkey off our backs!

  • Sorry I'm out of town this weekend, props to everyone who can make it down for the clear up.

  • Beagle what needs to be done? Is it heavy lifting, cutting, crowbar-ing, or undrilling?

If someone can commit to meet me at HH at 9:15am, I can possibly do an hour, maybe 90mins, tomorrow morning.

  • I dont know really but I guess there's a bit to do based on what @citygent said. Jimmy, how much is there to do?

  • As stated in the HH thread, I can help. Just need to know when, I'm not interested in being on my own.

  • @nesbit when would be good for you tomorrow? i can do early start, or else probably after 6pm.

Maybe Sunday evening after 6pm too.

I also dont want to do it on my own.

  • Just got an email back from Southwark Parks manager for Harmsworth Area (which includes Newington). The lights should be fixed to come on earlier, with a staggered turn off at 9:30pm, instead of being plunged into darkness immediately.

  • Sorry all, it's wife's birthday tomorrow and I can't help out. I might be able to get down this evening.

We need to dismantle the chaos that is the north wall. Hammers, drills and pry bars to separate the pieces.

I'd like to try and dry the unused OSB out by stacking them between remnants of the uprights? Also make a call on. Boards too damaged to be useful and get them in a neat pile whilst I work out if HH can organise them being taken away with the pavilion waste.

  • if it comes to it jimmy, and you get it all stacked i can get a big van from work next week and drive down one evening and grab the waste boards. only problem is we would need somewhere to take them as i cant dispose of them at work

  • @dubkev I can be there early, but am i right in thinking you've only got an hour or so to spend?

Would be good to get a few more hands down there. How about some of the people that regularly play there??

I have a drill, but no hammer or crow bar.

  • @nesbit Yes I would definitely have to leave just after 11am.

I have a hammer and crowbar, wood saw, and a drill. Can bring them all. Meet you there around 9:15 am?

@citygent where is the key? or will there be people there at that hour?

  • @dubkev, nice one with the lights, will let you know what happens Monday (if you're not there).

And I'd be up for helping out this weekend, but unfortunately I'm working Sat and busy Sun, sorry.

  • Cool. Might be there Monday anyway, but if not let me know, I'll feed back to Nina.

  • ill come down to join any group of people who do this weekend. I assume all those who have actually used it regularly will be there to help out?
    @sombra @PhilJD @SuperLuca @cafafox @GranthamMiles @Khornight2 @gormley @Crumb @Francekevin @Future @DBKAllan @Gregvsn @coventry_eagle

Lets have a list for each day and if we can get a decent number each day then it should be sorted by the end of the weekend.

Kev can we borrow your tools?

    Saturday 9-11
    Dublin Kev?

    Saturday 11/12

    1. Punkture

    Sunday 11/12

  • Charlie and Phil helpfully came down on Wednesday and did a bulk of the work making the MUGA safe for use by HHV. Just wanna extend thanks to them for this!

I have the key and Sara has agreed I can pop down tomorrow at 9am as long as I make her the best breakfast in the world afterwards. It'd be nice to have a couple people there to bounce ideas around about how to lead the day.

  • Cheers for the offer, we might need to do this to save LHBPA funds if HHV can't help us out disposing of it!
