  • Yes I believe thats the HT length, I've not done many longer rides, but never had any problems on the ones that I did do. I absolutely love that bikes, its a complete joy to ride.

  • Cool. I'll ride it a bit and see how I feel. Had been off for ages from shoulder surgery, then did a few big rides instead of taking it easy and got tendonitis in my ankle, so just bored and exploring options. I think a 58 with 13cm stem and Praxis BB30 convertor with Ultegra would be fun though.

  • If you sell the sram stuff I'd be interested in shifters and rear mech? would want the cranks too but they're bb30 aren't they?

  • If I did sell it'd be as a groupset, which is 10-speed and 2013 I think, was all new last summer, and all hardly used and in perfect condition (have been off the bike most of that time):

    SRAM Red BB30 Exogram crankset 53/39t 175mm
    SRAM Red levers / shifters
    SRAM Red Yaw FD
    SRAM Force RD
    SRAM Force brakes
    Ultegra 12-25 cassette
    SRAM PC1091 chain
Gore RideOn cables & housings (left long to fit large frame)

But don't really want to be left without a training bike, so if I did size down I'd have to have the new frame and groupset ready first. Not entirely sure I want to give up something which seems to fit me well, basically because I want to have a more "pro" set up (slightly smaller frame with longer stem and lower front end). We'll see.

  • I think this is a great build. Nice work!

  • Not a lot to compare it with, but built mine up with Praxis and Di2, works very well. And yes, Di2 front shifting is brilliant.

  • ^hawt.

  • Cheers Tim. Looks good. Would the Praxis work with the Di2 internal seatpost battery?

Where's the cheapest place to buy a new CAAD10 frame set, or is it retail price everywhere? Any discount offers or deals around?

  • @ChrisMGS I think @sensom had a few issues with di2 and bb converters it was in his CP thread

  • Its a tight fit for 5 cables in the BB shell esp with converters .. praxis has holes in theirs for this. Have you seen this? https://www.canyon.com/en/outlet/list.html#category=road-framesets&id=A1042485 They have all sizes except L

  • My junction box is up in the downtube, and there was enough room to loop 2 cables over the top into the seattube for battery and FD, and one over the top to the RD. One extra should be fine.
Oddly, my Praxis came with a solid sleeve, so all the holes are rendered useless anyway.

  • TooTallTim - Apparently the sleeve is meant for PF30 frames and can be removed before installation. See 35 second in:

amey - I like the CAAD10 and the Canyon would have to be a Large, looking at the reach compared with the 58cm Cannondale.

  • SS Evo Hi-mod is PF30 so sleeve has to be used.

  • Ah right.

Keen on the 58cm CAAD10 though. So, cheapest place to find them new?

  • @ChrisMGS - I think depending on the year you might be alright with a Praxis converter.

The one I had was the year where they made Di2 specific frames which didn't accommodate mechanical, and the mechanic was unable to thread the Di2 cables properly through the holes in the BB sleeve. I ended up going for a Wheels Manufacturing converter which worked fine (though some people do complain about creaking with those).

  • where is the best place to get new headset bearings for my caad10?

  • westbrook cycles usually have all sorts of spares for modern bikes

  • thanks, pricey :(

  • Just buy the cheapest integrated headset with compatible bearings. I believe it's the campag standard, could be wrong though, check before purchase.

  • I basically wrote my TCR Comp 1 off on the weekend. And am thinking of getting a CAAD 10. I want something lightish that I can race on, but mainly won't break the back if I wreck it. Am I looking at the right frame?

  • Depends on your definition of breaking the bank.

  • after breaking a carbon frame I feel obliged to buy another but 1500 quid on a giant carbon frame is definitely too much

  • Yea, other options around though; bowman palace for example.

  • All tweaks now done, bike is finished....well as close to finished as any bike ever gets I guess :)
