Dura-Ace AX was 1981 I think?
I don't know anything about Gazelle bikes but this must have been one of the the first Gazelle's with Mono-Stay & internal Rear Brake cable. Nice bike -

@stringfellow1946 Thank you! yes I believe you are correct, that may have been why I went for the 81 rear mech... I'll check the serial number on the frame to confirm the year
@BigH Cheers! I'll add the close-ups to the 'Dat Ass thread as well!
@adroit you're welcome to come and take a look - resistance is futile! (although this is a very reluctant sale!)

I have to admit if this was just the Frame & forks I would have to have it. I have a thing for Low Profile bikes with a small front wheels & before Tri Bars polluted things . Much the same as Rod Stewart with Blondes.

sold!
Hello All,
Sadly it is time to sell my much loved Gazelle AA Super lo-pro. I bought the frameset from NorthLondonLight about 3 years ago and was fortunate enough to get some help from DutchCheese who used to work for Gazelle in the 80s regarding the team it was made for and what components were originally specified - full Campagnolo Nuovo Record with Shimano Dura-Ace AX brakes, which is pretty much how it stands now...
The frame is a very early prototype AA Super lo-pro, it is a short wheelbase time trial bike with indented seat-tube and 700/650c wheelset - the internal cable routing was made specifically to take the Dura Ace AX brake calipers that came out the year the frame was built on the instruction of the team rider (who's name I forget but will dig through my old messages!)
Frameset - 57cm Gazelle Champion Mondial AA Super Lo-Pro, reynolds 531c
Headset - Campagnolo Record
Bottom Bracket - Campagnolo Record
Bars - ITM CRONOpiega (with internal cable routing and new white Fizik Microtex)
Stem - 100mm black 3T quill
Shifters - Gazelle pantographed Campagnolo Record
Brake levers - Shimano 500EX (should be Dura-Ace AX to be correct for the build)
Brake callipers - Shimano Dura-Ace AX
Chainset - Campagnolo Record Stada (with dustcaps)
Pedals - Campagnolo with Christophe cages and straps
Front derailleur - Campagnolo Super Record
Rear derailleur - Campagnolo Nuovo Record (Pat. 81)
Seat post - 27.2mm fluted (with three holes drilled to run rear brake cable through)
Saddle - Selle Italia Turbomatic
Bottle + Cage - Campagnolo Aerodynamica
Wheelset - 32h Campagnolo Record hubs laced to matching 700/650c Wolber TX profil clinchers and 6-speed screw-on block
I've just dusted it off and serviced it, it is riding very smoothly... I know I'm going to regret this!
Viewing welcome in either Islington (N1) or Southwark (SE1) evenings and weekends
Asking £800 DROP TO £750... for the full build, including a spare 650c gumwall clincher tyre and a few new 650c inner tubes...
Fire away with any questions or PM etc...
Cheers,
Matt
