How does it compare in stack?

I'm chucking drops on my SS 29er
Oh dear....

Good point. Done this properly now.....
Road bike frame has 1.5mm less Reach, and 85mm less stack.
Road bike has a 110mm, -7 deg stem.I ride off road in the drops for Control. So the stack isnt a problem.

Ha. I never did that in the end at least.....
-
• #2931
Going for a flared drop, like a Woodchipper. or Midge bar?
-
• #2932
I was thinking of a slight flare. Like the 12 deg of a Salsa Cowbell.
My Enve SES bars on the road bike have this and its bloody lovely.

Was thinking more you might need to go shorter in the stem as the stack increases. Lower = longer
-
• #2934
Yeah, that makes sense from my simplistice visualisation of rotating my road position up.
Might get a 90mm stem for it.
The fatbike is getting longer and lower. As I dont feel I have enough weight on the front end.

In contrast to his Black Cat, I find the more I look at this bike, the less I like it personally...

The stem offends me....

Likewise the saddle, cranks and bars.
Nice frame and wheels though.

Looks perfect for SSCX trail riding. Puts the drops in a good spot for off-road control.

I thought this thread was about bikes that are ridden and enjoyed, rather than looked at/hung on the wall?
I also really like Paul cranks on sscx when they don't have the royal flush chainring.

Don't know if this appropriate for this thread, but has anyone use or brought anything from this shop before?
-
• #2945
I buy lots of stuff there but I guess you are looking for UK buyers' experiences?
-
• #2946
Yes indeed. Are they trustworthy?
-
• #2947
I just don't get his choice to put Racers on it...
-
• #2948
They certainly are. They always ship pretty fast and I like that they always have the new stuff and weird parts.

Not enough Enve. Needs this :-)
I'm chucking drops on my SS 29er.
The frame has a Reach roughly 0.5cm Shorter than my road bike. So I was thinking 1cm Shorter stem for an overall 1.5cm reduction in Reach. This bike has 2.2"/2.6" tyres fitted. So its for offroad use mainly.
Does this sound about right?
