The programme I was involved in carried a thesis around the clouding effect epo microdose has on the detection ability of tracing blood transfusion on profesional athletes - not the epo effect itself.
Between micro dosing, mini transfusions and altitude training you can royally fuck with the ABP.
The micro dose of EPO stimulates production of new blood cells that get surpressed when you transfuse and show up as an ABP marker.
Going to altitude gets all your test results asterisked just in case you overcook things.
