^3 1/2 hour drive and you rode home? Good resolve.

Looks like Tuesday will be my first test in strong wind, 2 X out and back, North - south with a 45mph southerly wind. Do I gear for the tailwind and struggle into the headwind or risk spinning out on the northern legs? Any advice appreciated. In the absence of wind I would have geared for a low 23'00" at 90rpm - 52x14.

Nah man, I rode there and I rode back. Return ride was slower (4hr) due to headwind and for that I apologise for my weakness.

I find this sort of resolve unfathomable, let alone the 24 hour efforts. Rep.

I think I'll gear regardless of the wind, I reckon I'll struggle to turn a massive gear even with the tailwind if I'm recovering from a horrid churn on the way out.
