So I plan to run at least one repeat of the Speyside distilleries cycling tour I led last year. You can see how it went (and how beautiful the region I grew up in) from the Flickr album. It was a three day event. Our planned routes (from which we deviated a little here and there): http://ridewithgps.com/routes/4801639
http://ridewithgps.com/routes/4822176
http://ridewithgps.com/routes/4872658
. We took an overnight train to Aberdeen arriving Saturday morning and caught a train from Keith early on Monday afternoon, with a change at Aberdeen. As you can see from the gradient charts, the Grampian highlands are not flat but rarely steep and quite doable on a fixed gear (no challenge to geared bikes at all).
So it's time for me to start planning this. Who is interested? Note: the buff guy who keeps taking his shirt off won't be along. Cocktail stops are a certainty, however.
No fixed date yet so I haven't put up an actual event yet. That will grow from responses to this thread (although I am also recruiting elsewhere).
