  • Think I probably would've had a quick go on it and then put it back, perhaps the owner would've seen and would perhaps then learn the error in their ways.

  • I wonder why the owner hasn't been back for the frame?

  • I would so leave a note on that asking if he still wanted it.
What are the rules regarding abandoned (if somehow you can prove they're abandoned) frames.

    Hands off.

  • It's stealing. If you're going to steal then you'll do it anyway, and probably won't get caught, but people on here won't back you up on it.

  • Yeah.
BTW would never have actually taken it. Was just wondering what happens to all the bikes that never get brought back. Do they get stolen or does the council take them if they're in ridiculously bad condition?

  • Many councils remove them, store them for a bit to make sure the owner doesn't wan't them, then either sell them or they sometimes have projects to renovate them and give them to worthy folk.

  • or more likely they leave them there to rot

  • Some unclaimed bikes end up at auction at Frank G Bowen

We are commercial / general auctioneers and valuers dealing with the valuation
and sale of bankrupt and liquidated stock along with property from Police Forces,
Airport Lost Property and surplus trade stocks. Our sales are held every two weeks, at
253 Joseph Ray Road, London, E11 4RA, general public welcome.

The descriptions are a bit vague

  • Things like that are great if you're popping into the corner shop to get milk in a normal town.

  • P3...locked with a tiny kript. on the top tube and looped around with cables...quite an expensive bike to have been locked like that

  • Outside a dental surgery?

  • no in bedford square

  • Agreed. However, they're not getting a D' around either of those wheels.

  • You could get one around the front to frame

  • Definitely get one through the rear.

  • That's what she sai.... oh never mind.

  • That has to be stolen. Or the owner is mad.

  • i was suspicious. will put this in the stolen thread. i do doubt its still there..if it is what should i do?
