are oldsters still allowed variable transmission?
-
• #5
Variable transmissions are welcome*
*but we may we require proof of senior citizenship if this is accompanied by pointy helmets and disc wheels
-
• #6
Wouldn't they be proof enough?

55% chance of rain, westerly gusting to 35mph and 11°C
Lovely

• #10
looks like three big climbs
, reckon the Charge Plug is up for it?!? otherwise might be a little rain-dependent.. -
• #11
the first two climbs are perfectly ok on fg/ss if I remember correctly.. it's just the last climb that's a bit of a struggle
-
• #12
:-) sniff... might better attempt this once recovered from a cold (!), happy climbing WNKRs...
-
• #13
Forecast looks even nicer now - showers to be done with by lunchtime
-
• #14
:-( Was set for this but now understand I am going to a "jazz evening" at Luddlet #2's school instead, actually very close to the Kent 1 route. Listen out for "Caravan" etc as you ride.

• #15
@blowfish @rhowe are you training it or riding out? (obvious @Rod_Munch is obvious)
-
• #16
I'm currently thinking train - the ride out looks exceptionally unappealing although it's not that far. Might change my mind later, but at the moment it's train for me.

would it be too much to ask to go back to just one thread and posting the weekly ride in there so i (we) don't have to look out for events all the time and can check just one thread?
-
• #19
I'm planning to ride out... most of it is my commute and don't really fancy schlepping to Victoria
-
• #20
is he a rusher or a dragger?
-
• #21
not gonna make this one. cycling in wales over the bank holiday and need to get some stuff sorted out before hand.

@AirTime I just put a note in my calendar that it's a WNKR week and then check the forum for chat (unless it's a slower week in which case I'll check it earlier and chat shit for a good few days beforehand).
As for tonight I think I'll be riding out as well. Might try the ride back in as well but not sure, depends on what time we finish up...
-
• #23
hmmm, neither I think - he's on trumpet and piano rather than drums

I'm planning to get the train from Blackfriars, not Victora.
Departs 1904, arrives 1933
Kent 1 St Mary Cray.
http://www.ridewithgps.com/routes/4350449
A hilly 32 miles (tho not as hilly as Surrey) through the beautiful Kent countryside.
Train from Victoria at 19.22 arrives 19.45 for the rideouts. Zone 6 on the Oyster
Return trains:
22:22 23:04 Blackfriars
22:22 22:51 Victoria (1 change)
22:43 23:07 V
22:51 23:23 B
22:52 23:34 B
23:43 00:07 V
*Trainengers might want to check those times, as they appear to be a little different to the last time this was posted - and I may well have misread the National Rail site! I'll be riding out and back as per usual..
**Disclaimer: there is no pub at the end of this ride :(
