  • I find they have to be tilted upwards slightly otherwise it hurts the wrist over a few hours solid riding. But then again that might just be the rimtape cough benotto tape not doing me any favours...

  • they have to be tilted upwards slightly otherwise it hurts the wrist

That's why the LA84 is the greatest bullhorn ever made, the hand angle is very natural and if you set them up right the first slope even supports your wrists. Cinelli would sell millions if they brought them back.

  • Tilting also helps when sprinting so you have a better angle for gripping/pulling at the bars kinda thing. ITM Citta di bassanos look pretty nice too, seen them in many old tt photos -

Got a set I want to try out on the Shrubb soon.

  • So basically the trick to bulls on a lopro is vintage pursuit bars...

  • Put on some Chorus derailleurs.

Left to do now is think about that steerer - either chop or replace with a shorter fork - and the wheels, which don't really need replacing but it would be nice to have a black pair of rims.

  • Pretty much yes :)

  • Like they where made for each other...

  • Just a garmin mount and pedals away from finished IMHO.

Nice bike, I even dig the tyres.

  • Back to gum walls for the new fair weather season. I've gone with Mr Scoble's Clement Strada LGG recommendation. I quite like the wonky font, gives it a nice hand-made feel.

  • thats awesome.. ti?

  • Yeah mid 90's ti, and then the finish which is a bit odd, there's the colour you can see but it and the whole frame are under a kind of clear coat that picks off almost like spray on plastic, it's mostly ok but cracked in a couple of places. Where it's coated the front derailleur mount it's like a 3d shell, you can pick it off and put it back again.

Dunno if Carrera made their own ti frames or if it would be by someone else but it's quite nice all the same.

Nice to find some solidarity for the pink tyres, both here and on pignonfixe.com. I was expecting angst and gnashing of teeth.

  • So nice aren't they! I think they ride pretty well too, given the puncture protection and price!

  • Nice! Where did you get the tyres? Couldn't find any at my lbs..

  • totalcycling.com, £47/pr delivered.

  • Full bike pic please! That looks sweet

  • D'oh! Ha! This is the only pic I have with the new tyres on, will get it out in daylight shortly.

  • I'll wait with baited breath... ;-)

  • Thanks for the tyres' links, I'll check them out..

  • I ordered mine from winstanleys, were out of stock on the site. Arrived within 3 days!

  • How long have you had them and how would you rate the puncture protection? In the market for a LEJOG set of tyres and like the look of these...

  • New project, adventure touring bike. First job was to get a stuck seatpost out, after three days of pouring caustic soda into it, it was finally dissolved enough to winkle it out with a screw driver.

  • Did you win this on ebay not long ago? I really liked it but it wouldn't of fitted, I still nearly bid though as it looks well fun.

It looks to be in better knick that i remember.
