Eurosport Player on your TV, you will need:
- Apple TV
- iPad
- Eurosport Player app on iPad
- Subscription for same
Then use Airdisplay to send the iPad content to the TV, perfect full HD picture with perfect sound -everything my brand new MBA could not do when playing Eurosport in Safari and streaming it to the TV.
- Apple TV

So we found a work around and it's (finger crossed) working... we had to go into terminal and do something with the pmset - we had to disable the standby delay as we think that the root of the problem is waiting for the RAM to be read back up from disk when the machine is put to sleep. The downside for this is that the battery life is shortened. Not entirely happy with it, but what choice do I have?
In theory, this should only work with mahcines that have problems with waking up after a long sleep, like over an hour, which machines usually go into a deep sleep mode (so I was told), but the problem I have been experiencing is when the machine is woken up pretty much right after it's gone to sleep, but hey ho, we's been testing it and it's OK so far... so... fingers crossed...

This is crap, sorry to hear about it. This is really putting me off buying a Mac.
Sleep has never been right in Yosemite for some reason.
pmset and the power management stuff associated with it has been in OSX since Jaguar. You'd really have thought they'd have it sorted by now. I've never seen a PC that has problems with sleep/wake/shutdown.

I wish it was... maybe the factory is infested with it... in the worst possible way, I am glad I was able to replicate the issue in the store just now... now they actually are shocked that this is happening... I don't believe for a second I am the first person who have brought a machine back with this issue... now they are onto the engineering team to see what they can do, if they can do... failing that, I think I will ask for 1 last replacement and if that does the same... I go back to PCs...

On a different note, they now have the MacBook on display in store, so I had a play with them etc, they are real nice, the keyboard sucks though, maybe it'd just be a matter of getting used to. Oh boy, they are very very light... hummm... I really shouldn't...

• #7770
keyboard sucks
why?
-
• #7771
too flat and the keys don't bounce back, so it's somewhere inbetween a vitural keybaord and a physical one... the keys are full size but distance between them is closer, so quite a bit different...
-
• #7772
Why?
I'm looking forward to buying another.

At least you managed to show them, I want to say "third time lucky" but last time someone said that I broke my leg, so maybe just "fingers crossed"!

That was a joke about ExTra's unfortunate situation and the chances of 7up's machine having the same problem!
