wtf? It opened in about 2008. I know the guy that started it, I knew the restaurant before it, a low-rent wagamamma ripoff called Soba, run by this weird looking dude who ran a fish and chip 'restaurant' there before that, it was like a shit fish & chips version of Garfunkel's, atourist trap kind of place as it was so near Oxford Street.
It's so weird that they think Golden Union has been around for 150 years.
Their fish cakes are absolutely MARVELLOUS btw, as is their tartare.
