There's a guy on the crystal palace triangle who seems to do stuff like this to order.
It looks quite decent if you like the painted MDF look.
Not sure how expensive it is though.
I tried to google him, but failed.

Is there some where out there, somewhere out there, that'll do this? Can I specify some dimensions, and lo, a bookcase will appear?
