So another Oakley question. Do photochromic lenses go completely clear in the dark?
-
• #428
not completely, but nearly

Nice video. Looks like photochromic is the way to go to avoid having to buy an extra clear lense.

I use mine in the dark, you really don't notice what tin bit of tint there is.

They tend not to go quite as dark in actual use as the lens is shaded to some degree by a cyclist's posture, more so if you ride with a helmet. But they're generally good all-rounders.

Can anyone recommend some reasonably priced (ie sub£50) polarised sunglasses?
I don't need cycling ones specifically, ideally sports orientated but fashionable. I had a set of Sunski s but they annoyingly got mislaid.
Bloc maybe?
Cheers.

For my Radars I would like to get some red tinted low light lenses. Which ones do you recommend please?

Oakley can now do prescription lenses to -6 if you are very short-sighted like me. For my prescription they could only offer quarter jackets or racing jackets. I have ordered a pair of black racing jackets with black iridium polarised lenses. They are going to take a month or so as they have to be made in their US lab.

FYI
I needed photocromatic glasses.
I refused to pay what oakley wanted.I got these UVEX.
Now the frame isn't quite as comfortable on nose bridge as my racing jackets, but it's comfortable.
I do like the no-frame at the top of the lens as it got in the way when trying to see in aero position.but the photocromatic lens is top notch. Goes light enough to see at night and dark enough at day.

Just taken the plunge with these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181688814221?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&var=480642554259&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
£25 for prescription sunnies, worth a go for times I can't be arsed with putting contacts in, shorter rides, summer commute etc. Probably crap but we'll see.

These are cheap, comfy and come with 3 types of lens as well as a hard-ish bag, softbag and cleaning cloth

Ray Ban Wayfarers (small)

Oakley split jackets ,black iridium for sunny & vr28 low light
perfect for me -

I picked up a pair of the RayBan folding Wayfarers yesterday. Orange frames and iridium style flame lenses. Dark grey arms.
I love the folding thing, although the boxy case is a bit lame. Put them in a soft bag and they go in your pocket no bother.
Recommended.

I also snagged a lovely, blue frame, blue lens pair of Oakley Holbrook's at the airport for a sweet price.
I can't find a picture of them online so think they just have been an airport special limited edition.

Got a mark on my Oakley jade iridium lense that won't buff out. It looks like a fingerprint but there must be some grease / oil in there I guess.
How does one get rid?
