I went to Jens Voigt's effort at Grenchen (it's not far from where I live). There was nothing else on, but it was totally worth it (don't remember the actual price, but being Switzerland it may not have been much less...). You just saw Jens going round and round, numbers going up, other numbers going down, it was strangely completely compelling, even when it was clear he would definitely do it. Wiggins has more at stake I think, I'm sure it will be very exciting.

Alex Dowset tickets now for sale here
Anyone know if it'll be a little overcrowded?

I just did a taster session at Lee Valley. Was brilliant fun. Alex Dowsett was training beforehand. Quite mesmerising to watch. Would get tickets if it didn't involve going to Manchester.
Someone was saying that because there was a derny race before Sarsh Story's attempt, they opened all the vents and the temperature was too low. No idea how much difference it made, but guess if would be marginal

Wiggins posted a video of his training on Instagram, on a UKSI bike with his 2012 helmet, so no kit compromises.

Team Movistar getting down to business. I spotted Chris aka Crankphoto with them so hopefully he has been getting some good shots from up close.

After watching some of the previous attempts zig-zagging around their efforts, it's nice to see a beautiful demonstration of how to ride the track from Mr Wiggins.

Cool vid. Much more stretched out position than normal too.
I have a ticket for Saturday (from a colleague associated with Movistar) and will bring the laptop and phone for live updates. Twitter pacing graph is all ready for data entry :D

Thought Dennis was being a bit churlish, saying Wiggins to break 54 or 55k is impossible, and super-human, while at the same time admitting Wiggins is a much better time-trialist and more experienced track rider. A veiled suggestion of doping if those numbers get hit? It will certainly fuel the clinic trolls.

He's never put a foot wrong in regard to doping or any real suggestions he could be implicated. If he rides 55k we should just be proud of him.

I hope Dowsett does brake it, he might not get another chance.
And the brad puts it on the top self, where it will stay for a long time. -

Lets just hope he doesn't get taken out and injured by someone in the Tour de Chipper

I hope Dowsett does brake it
Frankly, this will be rather difficult on a track bike. :)

Dowsett's attempt will be broadcast live on Eurosport 2 on Saturday.

I hope he gets it and returns the record to it's rightful owner, an Englishman.
