Could be stupid question but tubulars riding fixed? Won't be every day riding, but how well do they withstand skidZzzz
-
• #703
^ I can't imagine they'll enjoy that much - held on by glue and resisting friction from skidding....
-
• #704
I'm not sure the forces from the skidding would be a problem, more the fact that they're expensive and often a lot thinner than clinchers so they'd burn a hole in your pocket and themselves!
Oh, and punctures would become even more of a pain...
-
• #705
It definitely wouldn't be every day that's for sure, it's the Planet X 82mm ones, found a decent enough deal with tyres on already for roughly 300. If I ride baring in mind not to skid I guess it wouldn't be so bad.
Does anyone know any clincher wheelsets of roughly the same depth? Going for super hhsb here fellas!

BLB notorious 90 would probably be more practical
Or save a bit harder and get some chinese crabonz
-
• #707
Presumably the ones in the Classifieds?
If not, there is a set for sale in the classifieds.. :) -
• #708
The Planet X ones? It's from a local Facebook page from back home but they're the same price as the ones on the forum! I think I'm gonna risk it, they're gonna be sunny weather wheels and I probably won't skid too much
-
• #709
Doh! Friend of mine just sold his 88mm clincher wheelset on here.
+1 on chinese sets though. The rims & novatec hubs are really nice quality.

Do it. Slave fun.

You can get gatorskin tubulars. It's fine.
-
• #712
Yeah I think I messaged him on Facebook but it was too late!
Will I get import tax on eBay china jobs? Not really imported anything other than my smp.
@tomvanhalen I've seen them, gonna talk to him about price and see if I can get a deal!
-
• #713
You're liable for tax and duty on anything bought outside the EU
-
• #714
That's a shame! Yeah I had to pay around £40 in duties :(
-
• #715
Thanks, worth seeing how much I can get them for. Will look when I'm home.
Thanks for the help folks!
-
• #716
Aren't you BRKLZZ though? Slow riding for you then!
-
• #717
Yeah brakeless but I am usually alright, tend to jump skid thing
-
• #718
The only way I can skid my lo pro is to skip skid it unless its wet

Totally off topic, but does anyone on here play tennis in Norwich? I've joined the Norwich Parks Tennis club (at the Eaton Park courts) for the calendar year, and am looking for some more hitting partners. Let me know if you're interested; membership gets me tennis for free, so you'd only need to bring a racket to play!
-
• #720
I used to play squash but I've never played Tennis, I'd be interested in having a go though
-
• #721
We're not muh good, but Sara and I would happily knock a ball about with you... if we can find our rackets.
-
• #722
@jakjakjak Ah yes, I forgot we had discussed that. Let me know if you do find them and we'll set up a time for some mixed doubles!

"Think I'm gonna buy a road bike and ride it on the footpaths." Said inconsiderate bicycle riders
-

On my walk to work there's a guy that cycles a hybrid on the path at speed and looks at pedestrians, myself included, like we're the ones in the wrong. He does this on St. Benedicts where you can't even walk side by side; I resist clotheslining him every day

He would have "fallen off" a long time ago if he did that to me!
Awesome yeah! Im not too bad. He was gonna do it with his Dad in August, so thought it would be a good thing to do...
