  • I'll be doing 7 everests in June. Or at least that's what the claimed elevation gain of the tour divide route is.

  • Sounds legit.

Not jealous. Anything that is 'everested' by only doing a seventh. Is all kinds of fecked up.

  • Try Ramersbach

Only 26 reps and a 230mile ride right?

  • ha, yes but I live in the Netherlands and I think the segment with the most vertical m between bottom and top is Camerig

  • do you know the key combos for mac users?

  • respect.
Want to get a MTB to do southdd

  • I think for macs to open the console in Chrome use Command + Option + J
Pasting is also Command + Option + V

  • command + V, without option. cheers, it worked. background stays grey though?

(this work is called messengering in the city of Tilburg from oct '14 - april '15)

So much fun. Charts Your strava ride as a stage profile With overlayed strava segments.

  • Alp D'Huez must be the most well defined Climb in the world. Theres one road from start to finish*. Why does it have dozens of fecking segments. Meh.

(*I still got lost the first time)

  • Man, that annoying that the black isn't coming through. I don't know why - try replacing "black" with some other colour. Pity, cos black highlights the heatmap colours best.

Really like your map there though. There's a strava club called 'Ride every road' that would also appreciate it if you interested. That's where I found this map method.

  • Oh good, only 125 reps of Brimley Road Hill (one of the few hills with a decent gradient in Toronto)

    http://www.strava.com/segments/730203

  • There's more than one way up. Plus where do you measure too, the entrance to to the village itself, or the actual Tour stage finish?

Don't ever do a segment search for Alpe d'Huez though, there are hundreds, many of which aren't anywhere near France.

  • Have you seen a 24hr track (running) race? Boggles the mind. I watched the end of one IRL just to convince myself it wasn't an internet joke...

  • cheers, will check it out

  • anyway I can change the strava maps to the maps at bridlewaymap.com? You can change it to open street/cycle map using the bookmarks supplied here but there's a bit too much data on those for what I need. Sadly OS maps used to be available but no more.

  • I have a terrible habit of just riding till the hill ends. Which sounds fine. But up here you can find yourself on a washed out mud trail, trying to sqeeze every once of traction out of Your horribly expensive tubs, and trying not to think about descending over exposed rock on carbon rims.......

I then og home, create it as a segment, and do it again. Instant KOM.

  • does anyone use strava's fitness/freshness chart?

averaged around 400 TSS/week for last month seeing fitness chart grow steadily. This week im on 300TSS (according to trainingpeaks). If I don't do anymore riding I will be 3 "fitness" points down on last week.

    It seems incredibly harsh :(

  • I've looked at it, it seems utter nonsense.

  • I have just discovered a) Strava and b) Richmond Park. Today was a good day.

  • It is what it is. The formula for calculating fitness will be the same as trainingpeaks but with different weights / a different exponent.

  • Just catching up.... the nymag article...

Many of the app's most popular and contested segments in New York are in located in Central Park, including Horse Shit Climb

  • Boss just walked into the office wearing one of those Strava Gran Fondo jerseys.

First specimen I've seen in the wild.
