Yeah, there's a video. I think talcum powder might be handy, they smell like a swimming cap. Fingers crossed.

How many watts are they likely to be worth? I have some of these but they seem a bit flappy http://www.specializedconceptstore.co.uk/elasticised-shoe-cover/36397/apparelcustomshoecovers

Ta, that's what I'll keep telling myself as people pass me on vintage road bikes and tut!
-
• #9181
Ride faster. Problem solved. :)
-
• #9182
They are covers for cold weather. They are probably slower than shoes without covers.

Giro Empires with the laces taped over sans covers are the hot aero tip for 2015.

Last night I overheard one of the youngsters tell another youngster to put his transponder at the back of the ankle, because it was more aero.
I did the same but kept knocking the band on my (bent) bottle cage, so it ended up at the side of my leg.

Oooh transponder. I have to somehow summon the memory, the breath, and the articulation to shout my number as I cross the line.
Speaking of which, my most nervous date on the club calendar is my first timekeeping duty in June.

the fit of the velotoze was good, but when theyre on i guess theyre stretched so thin it only takes a small rub to tear them. Reminded me of whoopee cushions when i first got them out the packet. Not trying to diss the product here, im more annoyed with myself really for using them on a club 10 instead of saving them for a bigger event. I had to put a foot down before the start and the other gained a hole during removal .

It's really very easy. Well done for doing it, everyone who races should officiate at some point.

• #9188
Why did you get short ones?
-

This year you have to do at least 2 jobs (signs, timekeeping or pushing-off) over the season to qualify for series points, which I think is a great idea.

Yeah, my old club had a similar thing. Unfortunately we used a DC course that required about marshalls in addition to the usual pusher offers and TKs.

they were in my LBS, £12. They only had XL in long and L in short so i just bought them to see what they were like.
It appears im a #worldclassskank as ive just managed to repair them with some patch strip applied inside out.

You smashed it mate, I cant believe you managed to go quicker than last week. Last week I think I measured the effort really well and was totally ruined when I crossed the line, but didn't seem to have my head in the right place this week, probably too busy smiling at disc wheel noise.
Bring on the megahilly!!!!

@fizzy.bleach the only technique I havefor getting them on is swearing at them to aero my feet

tried, didn't get overtaken, managed to overtake two and beat my 10 pb by exactly 1 minute.
according to strava i'm only 3 seconds slower than @umop3pisdn on the course!

strava
Wash your mouth out. I gave up the opportunity to ride tonight so that you could get a proper time, if you're going to use Strava I might as well not bother in future.
-
• #9196
According to my CB you're 19 seconds faster.
-
• #9197
Haha, thank you!
i also use Training Peaks and Garmin, but whilst i doubt many people are interested in my time, i know there are even less who would be interested in power numbers, left right balance or any of the other geeky shit i have up in front of me!
now to give the golden cheetah to look at, and try to work out what my cda is...

grrr, don't seem to have the ability to install stuff on the wife's computer, will have to try again tomorrow.
4th place, pipped by 2 seconds, just as well there is some more speed in the post!

• #9199
Well done! Looks like the new bike did well for you! Power numbers not too shabby either.

What makes the smart ones faster than the coated lycra ones? They look similar to some brands
yep, see you there!
