After I read the above I dug out the instructions for the cassette (which included both types, and which naturally I ignored), and Veloce spacer order is just as complicated as Record, but in a different way of course. Naturally, I then had to take apart my new cassette and rebuild it as per the instructions. Luckily, I had it correct more or less by accident the first time. After years of Shimano cassettes, my return to Campag was a bit of a shock - who the hell designs cassettes with 4 different types of spacers in one cassette? (well, Campag does, for one).
