Ha,
Not far off. Will be DA 25th Anniversary. Hubs have already gone to Harry Rowland to meet some Open Pro Rims.

25.4 bars an option?

Just moved to a really hilly city, and looking to get my girlfriend's bike running 1x10 or 1x11. Anyone know a cheap 10 or 11 speed shifter that would work? Closest I can find is DA bar end, which seems a bit excessive, and only seems to come as a pair

Tange is a bit bit short iirc. But I will double check.

Yep, Belgian I am. Even more: straight from the heart of the "Ronde van Vlaanderen"-region. St Gillis, Ixelles, Ukkel,... sounds like the more interesting part of Brussels. ;-)

noooo put ludicrous modern bits on it!
Everyone with incredible frames like yours treats them respectfully... go full sacrilegious
-
• #101183
Zactly: if ever a frame needed Di2 and a power meter, this is it.
But double discs for a nod to the old school.

Can easily be 8 speed with a wide ratios and friction shift (11-28 with 42t chainring).

That, Mr Scoble, is a good idea. Can you recommend a derailleur?
Will prob stick with the 39 ring on the front too. These are some steep hills. -

Can you recommend a derailleur?
Any 9-speed Shimano will be perfectly happy on 8-speed too, or RD-2400 Claris is native 8-speed and under £20

• #101187
You're quite right, double-spok & brakeless it is.
-
• #101189
Awesome, thanks ed, tester. Hadn't realised 9 speed - 8 speed compatibility was a thing

In theory, you still need to use 8-speed chain on an 8-speed cassette, but the 9-speed dérailleur cages have enough wiggle room to fit the fractionally wider chain.

Shimano 8/9/10 work well with each other.
Some 10 speed derailleur might be a little tight but still work.
Hell I even used an old 11 speed chain on a 7 speed hybrid, obviously not 100% perfect but still work.

Nice!
Your cat is begging you to change those red pedals though.

Hah. They're pink in the sunlight. And they're staying until I find something equally cheap, grippy, comfortable and as disinclined to eat my shins. Swiftly decided against beartraps

New wheels for the commute machine:
Araya tx533 on novatec hubs
Maxxis detonator 27,5 x 1.50
Clearance is tight on the chainstays, and that is with using the end of dropout.

Maxxis detonator 27.5 1.5
Didn't know they now make them in 650b, nice find.
For moar puncture resistant, the Marathon Plus is also available in similar size too, for moar speed, Kojak also.

Rad!
Needs these pedals though...

Deda peiga bars I think but I can't really remember.
Not much planned, it's just a rat/pub bike that's somehow ended up with a plastic wheelset that's worth more than the rest of it put together haha
