I picked it up from @JordonLPB 8 months ago and the wheel was bought new a few months before that.
Didn't HED buy the design from Specialized some years ago?
Is the carbon weave visible or is it plain black? Have a look in the valve access cutaway: there should be ID there.

Plain black no carbon weave. Will have a look there tomorrow :)
I was simply repeating the history of the item as was told to me -

Plain black no carbon weave.
An early Spesh then (mid/late Nineties): fair/good price, but it's not a year old wheel.
Not suggesting you have been anything other than honest.
I suppose someone could have taken a nearly new, £800 wheel and sprayed it black...

I understand that there is a dispute with this item.
The item was sold as seen with the description above, and the buyer exchanged in person and accepted the wheels.
There is now a discussion as to whether the wheel was sold true. The seller declares that a mech checked and the wheels were 1.5mm out of true. However at the time of production +/- 1mm is considered factory true, and the wheel is spec'd to work as true to tolerances of +/- 2mm.
A 1.5mm would be considered true.
The difficulty comes in that the buyer is unable to verify at time of purchase whether or not the tolerances involved are within that range. The buyer apparently later asserts that the wheels are 3mm out of true.
I also do not know what communication took place prior to the exchange or at the exchange.
The Sales of Goods Act does not apply to second hand goods where either:
- the flaw was described in advance (accurately sold) or
- the buyer inspected the product before accepting purchase.
It remains to be seen whether those exceptions apply, I do not know whether conversations described the tolerance of true, whether that is actually true (the real amount the wheel is out of true), or whether the buyer inspected the item.
This appears to be a dispute based on he-said-she-said and LFGSS are not going to get involved in it. If the buyer or seller has an issue then a small claims court is the best place to resolve it.
Hopefully this serves as a reminder to people to check items before concluding a sale.

As velocio stated - it's nothing to do with LFGSS and is a matter for personal resolution.

@redmax if the wheel is not true, and you did promise a refund, then it would be the honorable thing to keep your promise and refund @badmanlongtime. It sounds like you meant no harm at all, and it's badman's responsibility to have checked the wheel prior to taking it etc. but if you did indeed promise something then it would be right to honour it.

I did not promise a refund. I was put on the spot.
After just reading the text after walking out of a meeting I was taken by surprise and felt pretty bad so I said we'd work something out. You text me at around 7pm 1/5/15. You then didn't respond to me for over 12 hours and in these 12 hours I sent you a message via PM on here detailing my stance on the issue after actually thinking about it. I'm not legally bound nor do I feel honour bound to offer this refund I mentioned. The wheel was sold as seen. There was opportunity to inspect the wheel. It was not sold on an approval basis (I.e go away check it and then get your money back if not happy.) No matter what you say you had the wheel for six days. You COULD of damaged it in this time- no way of proving otherwise. 1.5mm is within the tolerance for true, I was informed it was true by a mechanic and because of this described it as true. Have since researched and found that carbon wheels (HED. ZIPP etc) are never perfectly true and 1.5mm for a Tri spoke still conforms to factory standards!
I'm sorry if you have different standards to the industry regarding the tolerance of wheels- you had the opportunity to check it when I took the 100mile trip to meet you in person. You paid £180 for a 20 year old wheel and you seem to want 0mm movement (something that is not guaranteed in brand new £850 HED wheels.)
I have made my position very clear to BadManLongTime and I have nothing more to say on the matter.
Evening all
Selling my barely used Tri Spoke as it simply does not get used enough to justifiy me keeping it.
I picked it up from @JordonLPB 8 months ago. Wheel is estimated as a mid/late 90's production.
Since purchasing it I have used the wheel about 5 times. Wheel runs true and the hub is buttery smooth. Tire is in an almost brand new condition too. Electrical tape over the breaking service to suit your HHSB needs.
I only have one photo of it but will provide more tomorrow if there is interest.
However
This item is only available for collection from Colchester, Essex OR London Liverpool Street on Saturday 25th April at around 10AM.
