  • A thrilling update - I actually made a decision and got a Zero 3. First impression is that it's a rocket :) Mega stiff compared to my Equilibrium and generally a very smooth ride. Need some crabon cages and to start saving for wheels and other carbon fancies too.

Really enjoying 5800 with a semi compact chainset too, makes a lot of sense for Surrey roads. Might need to think about a wider range cassette for the Alps trip I'm flirting with...

    TLDR: new bike day.

    Is this ever true?

    :)

I doubt they'll be as steep as the Surrey Hills, 52/36 with 11-28 is ample for the Alps, but then YMMV.

I loved the Genesis Volare, it's a fantastic bike until I went over 100km realising just how stiff it is.

Now I can understand why Genesis made the Zero.

  • Care to update us on your contentedness with said bike? Been looking at the Zero range. I actually prefer the livery of the Zero 2, also 105 but with non-series chainset and brakes (possibly different wheels). Did you ride a Cube Agree?
