  • How bigs the Cape?

  • i have a tweed flat cap, cape, skirt and plus fours i'm trying to flog

That must have been some outfit

  • ^ Ha!

  • So, as there are a few marshals amongst you, how is the new system going to work with traffic not being stopped? Are there going to be marshals looking after smaller groups and riding with, or are the marshals there to point the way whilst looking amazingly stylish (no sarcasm btw)

  • hi zebra
I have created tweedish cover for my Kingcycle box
    will look out for you
    bob

  • Many thanks to Ted, Bruce, all the marshals and the many other vols and people who made today so enjoyable. We couldn't have had better weather either, which always helps :)

I always love seeing how much effort riders go to and the good cheer they bring to the day. Also brilliant to see so many top-notch forum faces there - @ⒷⓆ, @veLLo, @General_Lucifer & Lady Lucifer, @JAH_tim, @kat, @Zebra_Cyclist, @EEI, @Ian(Conker), @coppiThat (briefly!), etc etc...

It was strange for me to see the marshals waving the riders on, guiding clusters of us through junctions, but not actually plugging traffic, as in previous years when I've been involved. I can totally understand why this approach has been adopted.

  • Just like Miss_Mouse said, many thanks to Ted, Bruce and all the marshals and volunteers (and the weather). Such a brilliant day and evening out, and good to bump into people from all over the place.

  • Thank you everyone, esp Bruce and fellow marshals making my first tweed run so enjoyable! Apologies to all those who's names I didn't quite get, let alone any forum names.. Definitely want to be back for next year!

And special thanks to Kat for the awesome outfit!

  • I don't think I was the only marshal that had severe doubts as to how this was all going to play out. TfL's ruling that we were not to cork traffic, stop at all red's etc. sounded to me like it would split us up into thin spindly whisps. My main concern was that riders who took their bike out of the shen once a year for this, would feel very intimidated in London traffic. - So what do I know? In the end, helped no doubt by the perfect weather, it mostly ran really well. There were bit's (notably Camden) where tweeders had no choice but to weave through heavy traffic, but had we ben corking off in this area it would have caused pandemonium!

Pip-pip to all who helped, and especially to @bruce who, had he been charging by the hour for his time put in, could probably retire now to some splendid castle in the kingdom of Fife

  • You've got the wrong Bruce there, Ian. You want @itsbruce.

  • Terrific to see you @Miss_Mouse and all the other forum faces. @blowfish - you rocked the Victorian cyclewear (complete with U-lock holster!). It was a great day - huge thanks to everyone, especially to ALL the marshals and @itsbruce who did a fantastic job.

  • Great to see everyone there - BlueQuinn, @General_Lucifer, @coppiThat @Zebra_Cyclist, @Goldcrank, @Zebra_Cyclist and too many others to mention. Was too busy to take many shots but have put up the few I managed. Also was glad to have the opportunity to raise the flag for my local bike shop, which some of you may have heard is under serious threat ;-)

  • Back in T'North after a 200 mile drive... Bit knackered, but still buzzing from yesterday!
@itsbruce, you a hero. You got your crew to junctions with spooky speed and 700 riders got home safe. I only wish I got a swig of one of your cocktails! Thanks mate! It was also ace to see some forum regulars - @EEI, the lovely @Miss_Mouse, Tanya, @Juggle and of course, @teddy (cheers for that pre-ride tipple, sir!)
I saw so many other great people, forum and non forum, it was a total success. One thing though - who was this odd bloke on the left?
