All brake levers should spring otherwise you would say they don't work right? ive started to doubt myself..
-
• #101082
Not if they don't have return springs, which old and/or cheap ones don't.

No, brake lever springs are a relatively modern invention (Shimano SLR, mid 1980s), and SRAM road brake levers still don't have springs.

Thanks @mdcc_tester and @Scilly.Suffolk . Problem surrounds, bullhorns drilled for cables and I'm internally routing them from the left lever to the front caliper. Cable seems to move freely so don't think its getting stuck between the lever and the bars.
Brakeset in question -What am I doing wrong and what do I need to do to fix it?

Caliper set very close to the rim? Try opening them up more, so the spring has a greater range of movement.
-
• #101086
Its close but no where near where it should be, good 5mm on each side roughly. Cant physically open them up anymore, calipers are already touching each other. Im baffled?

I still don't know what your problem is.

I meant let some cable through, so the arms are set wider apart.
I found that if the arms are set close to the rim (so they have a very small range of movement), then friction in the cable-run (that's a tight bend when the cable leaves the lever and goes down the arm) can be enough to overpower the spring.

Any tips on valve adapters for HED3/Specialized wheels? I've had to use the hand pump as my track pump won't fit.

Any tips on valve adapters for HED3/Specialized wheels?
Just use normal 36-40mm stem valves and your track pump should fit fine, assuming you have a decent air chuck
If you're too cheap to get a genuine Hirame Yoko, I've heard that the cheap knock-off ones also work, as does the KCNC

Changed wheels around today, temporary until I get a Mavic wheelset completed.

Nice setup on these brklss fixed TT bieks.
My only question is if you are in a tuck / doing 25 mph how can you skid / stop?
Amount of times my front brk has saved me from doors etc.

Just kinda finished this Fuji, I'm not 100% sure on the bullhorns yet prefer risers but I'll stick with them for a while yet. Probably will change the Charge saddle when I find one that doesn't hurt my arse after 20 mile.

Thanks but I don't think I'll be putting a £400+ air chuck on my £30 track pump. Is there an alternative solution that can live in my bag and enable me to use any pump I wish?

I have always just used the cheap 90° "crack pipe" adapters whatever bile shop I'm at is selling with decent success
After leaving the Moser neglected for the entire Winter I finally got round to giving it some love.
Pretty excited. Feels fast.
