  • I have a full 2013 OEM chainset, BB, tool and folding pedal on ebay....sorry not touting as it'll sell. I just never thought of putting on here.

  • anyone have one for sale? fancy another for the missus

    t

  • Quick question about lighting. The two Dynamo optiona, Shimano and SON, are vastly different prices. Is the benefit entirely weight or is the SON hub better at power generation?

After some recent trips to Berlin, I don't see the point in a commuting bike without Dynamo lights now.*

*even though I have two exposure Joysticks.

  • Actually the SoN came out worst in quite a few test, on vibrations when it's switched off.

The shimano one is perfectly ok and there is very little difference in drag between the two. However, the SoN is shiny..:)

  • i think the best option might be to get the bike as close to £1000 as possible to get the bike2work saving and then add the Shimano front wheel and lights of my choosing.

  • selling this:

    EDIT
    sold pending collection

  • Been into my soups recently...

The looks I got overtaking some road bikes were priceless.

  • Hello, Kermit.

  • Help please. I have a retired neighbour who mentioned she bought a Brompton four years ago that has seen daylight twice. I have little knowledge of these curious creatures but would like to make her a fair offer before we move house to add it to my stash, somewhere between fifty dorrah and £1k. Is £350 being tight?

  • Find out what type it is, how many gears etc, check the general condition of it. £400-500 is generally the going rate for 2nd hand bromptons depending on the state of them. Post some pics.

  • Hi, (cross post to how much is XYZ worth)

I have a brompton that is around 4-5 years old. It is a S2L-X and has the titanium seatpost etc. In good working order. Is £600 about right? I dont really know how much the Ti seatpost etc changes things

  • If by S2L-X you mean it's the ti frame, I'd say it's worth much more due to it's scarcity. I think they go on Ebay for £1000+

  • wow. Yeah its the Ti frame with Ti seatpost.

  • although I'd happily give you £600 for it :)

  • Bah, she's decided to keep it 'in case' she takes up cycling. Maybe I need to waft pound notes under her schnozz.

  • Not brompton, probably not very interesting concept and potentially repost...
My boss saw this the other week at the Milan show and emailed me the link...

I am not convinced at all... No way I would even start to swap my brompton to anything else anyway, but I thought people may like to have a look...

  • Had to use my west london folding biek today

Am always left thinking it is the most exciting bike I have, twitchy and the wheels lock up and it skids so easily in the wet.

  • Did you sell this? I could've interested as I'm after a Ti one.

  • I havent sold it yet no

  • Any LFGSSers interested in my Brompton ML3?

The bike is almost 2 years old but is in superb condition as it's seen little to no use over the past 18 months. It's matte black, 3 speed, with mudguards, upgraded with Thorn Comfort MK2 risers, SA shifter, Marathon Plus tyres, Brompton Easy wheels, Brompton front carrier block, Brompton T-bag, MKS EZY (removable) urban step-in pedals... Currently with Brooks B17 but I'll probably keep that and pop the Brompton saddle back on.

Not sure what price to ask? Anyone have any suggestions?

PM me if you're interested anyway - we'll work something out!

PS. I'll try to snap a photo in the next day or so.

  • My wife just sold her 2 year old ML3 on evil bay for £620 (7 day auction - no reserve) - good standard condition but no bag. Was a potentially divisive orange and white colour combo.

  • ^ Nice one. Thanks Mikey.

I've popped up a for sale thread with some more pictures and info for those who were interested:

  • I was chatting with one of the guys from the London Folding Bike company yesterday. A bit like caaradice each frame has two letters embossed on the BB, front section of the frame and on the rear triangle (unless it is made from ti).

The guy I spoke with is called Richard and his code is XA.

My folding bike was made by a person whose stamp is CA.

    Who made yours?
