Does the saddlebag work without support?

Sure: it has the usual strap for the seatpost.

It depends on how much you chuck in there and how big your frame is, as to whether it's useful.

I just bundled the support because I'll have no use for it without the bag: it's a freebie!

Not planning on doing more than a 200 this year and only needed the bag on longer Audax.

Apologies, I mean the bar/saddle bag, is that a bit smaller than the one that uses the support?

No problem.

It has the usual third strap at the rear, for attachment to the head or seat tube, to stop it flapping around.

I couldn't find it on Carradice, but it is round in cross-section and measures 27cm wide, 16cm high and 13cm wide.

It's much smaller than the "proper" saddlebag: I used it for chucking a large D-lock, keys, phone etc in.

If memory serves, it holds four 500ml tins of beer exactly.

Have to say, I'm thoroughly disappointed in the result of this purchase. The carradice arrived before I was expecting it, in better condition than I was expecting, sent via signed for delivery ffs! I didn't pay for postage, I don't expect this kind of service! No wonder there has been such a stir in bad traders recently. IT WAS JUST TOO DAMN EASY!!!!!!!!!!

On off chance that the purchaser of large Carradice doesn't want the support can I dibs it and engage in some unseemly haggling. I have a long flap and can't use it properly without support!!!!
