• 1 - yes, most saddles are too narrow for me. i can literally feel my sitbones on either side of most saddles, not sitting on the top of them. it means all the wrong parts of me take aaaaaall the weight.
2 - not actually too sure about hardness, though i would prefer a slightly squishy one?
3 - i think i do need a cut out. willing to experiment but from experience they lessen the pain at the front somewhat.

after about saddle number 8 i measured my sitbones at specialized in cov garden and got this:

which seems to be alright, i just got back from a mini tour on it and no massive probs but it's not perfect (or, as i know cycling isn't perfect or comfortable 100% of the time, reasonably comfortable). the width is good at the back but i'd be happier with a bit less pressure at the front. this lithia seems to take a lot of the pressure off the middle which is good.

  • I'd say a Selle SMP may be perfect then, as I've an SMP and an Oura, and the Oura is definitely harder on the nose/has less room for The Bits than the SMP.

What width is the Lithia? I've a SMP pro, but I cycle a 155, if the Lithia is 168 you probably need a different model :)
