Yeah, dry lube.
The c clip moves fine. It's the the pedal body now rubbing on the metal protector plate.
It will clearly rub as the plastic 3 plate adaptor has grooves in it from where the pedal body rubs it.
Does your pedal wear the 3 screw adaptor plate?
