So the timing results are in on the Explorer. After a full week of wearing it, it has gained 3.5 seconds per day, 0r 25 seconds in total.
Not bad and certainly within COSC standards.

You can probably get that closer to zero, depending on how you set the orientation over night. Possibly crown-up/crown-down will slow it slightly.

get rid of it!!! That is terrible!
In fact, ill help take that off your hands to save you the embarressment of such numbers!

Soooo many nice watches here in KL... I'm being very good tho', might just buy a pair of trainers instead...

Yeah; for the next week, i'll be keeping it "crown down" overnight. That's apparently the position to slow it down a little.
Results next Thursday.

the strap broke on my £5 casio, and thinking about going for something a bit nicer/more durable this time. Any recommendations for decent, durable, stylish watches but not too pricey? I prefer subtle style and am not bothered by brands or vintage.

The Altiplano 900P, launched in 2014, is just 3.65mm thick
I take a couple more mm to avoid that fugly face.

Yeah, guy here is well into them.
Service every 5 years is adequate, some people never service. Cost wise you're looking £200 independent, more like £350 if you go to Omega.
