• So I'm kinda ready to step up another level on my training...I recall reading this thread that a few people recommended reading some sort of book to determine if you need a power meter? On that note, is the general consensus that p2m/quarq are good? (SRM seem to be pretty pricey!)

    Would it be better to take that money and throw it towards a good coach/season program?

  • As a basic training tool a Powermeter helps improve the benefits of training by improving the quality of intervals/efforts.

    You still have to design the programme. There is so much conflicting advice I'd say a decent coach and HRM for the first year would be better than a power meter and DIY.
