Worked fine, too well in fact, made me think I could have done the ride with it in.

So, for those that don't know, last night's ride did take place but with just @Rod_Munch and @bitterbuffalo.
I waited at Kings Cross but no others showed up so I got on the train and met up with Jim and Will at Potters Bar. I had just fixed lights and was faffing about with the GPS when Jim asks "what's that on your tyre?" He had spotted a little bump on the sidewall which, on inspection, turned out to be a near 1cm gash with the inner-tube making a ominous little bubble out the side of the tyre.
I used a bit of the card from the packet of fig rolls to boot it but decided it was not sensible to risk doing the ride like that. I had, however, only bought a one way ticket so I had to ride home. The boot held up well, so well that I sort of forgot about it until I realised, about half way down the hill at Barnet, that a blow-out at the sort of speed I was going would not end well for me.
