Nice weather = crazy people?

Yesterday I saw a guy fly over his handlebars on Southwark Bridge. I was walking with someone and saw out the corner of my eye. I saw him and the bike somersault over a tiny lady, but they both seemed without injury, more shock. It took them some minutes to gather themselves.

The three coming behind him managed to stop before piling up. I didn't see if she stepped into the bike lane or he was on the path and fell into it, either way the two of them were on the blue.

Today there were a lot of people acting much less aware than usual, stepping into roads, walking blind into others, and some strange driver behavior, unnecessary acceleration to beat red lights from halfway down the road, and so on.

Was it all by chance, or is this sunshine making people go mental?

Sounds like a normal day to me. Especially drivers trying to beat the red lights.

I've never had problems on my route before, barely even long enough to see any cyclists on a normal day. Today was fucking nuts. And hot.

Bring back the rain and thermals.

Nah, its the warm weather. It makes people drowsy and slow.

I just think there's a bunch of people who haven't been on their bikes since the end of Autumn, and suddenly the roads are full of them. I saw more irresponsible cycling on Uxbridge road yesterday than I did for all of February. Plus loads of people out on Barclays bikes.

when it gets sunny in london people loose their shit. especially when all the day time drinking in parks kicks in. great though :)

You certainly get more clouds of cannabis smoke drifting out of car and van windows.

I have thought this for many years, as soon as the temp rises and the sun shows up its like a passport for a wankers day out.

Anyone who rides up Epping and into essex will confirm this. Driving standards drop to unbelievably bad levels..

My ride in yesterday was mental, seemed like someone was conducting an experiment in Glasgow yesterday and had given half the population speed and the other half smack.

Riding through the park and they were like zombies, wandering all over, stopping in gateways etc. Back out onto the road and they all wanted to run me over to get where they were going. Guy in an Impreza, did an alright job of avoiding me but was intent on racing all the other drivers while hanging half out his window calling everyone wanker!

Have experienced this, aside the Impreza guy, always amazed how fast old ped's can move when they've taken Vitamin S
