Looking good! I've got a Condor supremacy chainset, which I think is just a miche one rebranded (http://www.condorcycles.com/Gears-Drivetrain/24713-Condor-Supremacy-Chainset/flypage.tpl.html).
I've always preferred to lug it in a higher ratio than top out spinning, so I'm running 50x16t. It might just be the ratio, but I find when really pushing there's a bit of flex in the crankset. Thinking about upgrading to a SRAM omnium instead sometime, heard good things!

Thanks Nick, the wheels and rear brake are exactly what I was looking for... thanks for the info as well, good to get different point of view

Rear brake only bike?

Yep, I don't ride fixed and had a front brake Dolan and didn't like it one bit, I feel I can control the bike a lot easier with a rear brake, did years of downhill and it was the same with that as well

Nice to see this being built back up and given a new lease of life!

Except it's illegal with just a rear brakes on UK road.

After years of downhill, I reckon he is reconciled with that..

I love my Steamroller.
Thrown off many roofs, driven into walls and cars, 3 paint-jobs later and now rarely leaves the house.
Believe it or not, it now mainly gets used on the rollers..

Yea I know, what they don't know won't hurt them though... I used to drive my old Beetle with no front number plate and never got stopped so I don't think me running one brake is going to get their knickers in a twist

Few more bits bought and ordered... Gatorskin tyres and Conti tubes on the way, red grips from BLB, gonna go with a set of DMR V8 pedals to start off with before hopefully making my way over to clipless and a sweet Sram omnium crankset care of Joe aka @bananaskid... more pics soon kids!
Hey guys and gals, started my first proper build a few weeks ago, bought a Surly Steamroller through the classified section from Bert aka @Alb, along with a nice set of Miche rims from @nnnick, a Thomson seat post and stem, a rear brake and a pair of risers. If I can manage to post a pic, it'll be below... Not sure about what crank to get yet, thinking about a Miche or a BLB notorious, plus any advice on what ratio to go for would be appreciated!
