Is there any evidence of the internal cable routing in the middle of the underside of the toptube? The more modern internal routing could have been added later in the frames life... My supers all had gazelle stamped dropouts too, but maybe the dropouts have been changed from horizontal ones resulting in the gap at the rear? Perhaps it's a crashed and repaired prototype? BB cable routing is the strangest one...
