  • It was sunny up here so I tacked a bit onto my commute home.
    Also 1/2day ftw.

  • Two great computes yesterday, living the weather. Shane I had to stay kate so missed the real sunshine on the way home.

This was made up for by the line of people waiting to cross the road with their hands out for a high (medium?) five from passing riders. None of the ten or so in front of me went for it, so I did and got four good connections and a massive whoop for my effort.

    Winning.

  • It needs to start raining again, I had to que for the showers this morning, fair weather nobbers.

  • be sure to show them your fixie-lord ID lanyard. front of the queue.

  • Bus yesterday, back on the bike this morning. Didn't feel compelled to educate the feeble masses at all. 8/10 two points deducted for wearing an unnecessary soft shell jacket.

  • Sorry about that. I was busy berating a pedestrian on a side street and didn't have time to look behind.

  • This morning I was waiting in the ASL on Upper Street, in the right hand side, indicating my intention to turn right on to Pentonville Road. Moped twunt behind me sees the left and straight on green arrows appear and starts berating me for standing still, waiting for the lights to change to turn right. Traffic copper sees this and tells the moped twunt off for being where he wasn’t supposed to be on the hatchings and for being aggressive towards me. I thank the popo and continue my journey leaving the moped driver to be told off more by the Traffic copper. 9/10 would laugh again.

  • As here's no secure bike parking at my work I've never used my lurid white and green CAAD10 for the commute. Fed up with it not getting used I decided to ride it in today. First set of lights I stop at (outside the Horniman Museum) a dude in another Liquigas coloured Cannondale Evo pulls up next to me. Nods are exhanged. A few seconds later another cyclist joins us, also on a Liquigas themes CAAD10. Weird.

  • Fair-weather Liquigas club.....

  • totes.

  • I stop behind an suv at a ped crossing. SUV starts and immediately stops again to let a second ped cross while I glance off the back bumper not having seen the second ped. Cue stopping in the middle of the road to check for damage and demands of why I ran into her.
Funny how people are about anything touching their cars. From the force of the impact if it had been two people colliding on foot both would have just muttered apologies and walked away..

  • Cars are expensive, humans are disposable.

  • I got to watch a zipcar rental run 2 sets of lights and then get shouted at by a guy in a merc.

    10/youtube once I get home

  • Last night I saw a lorry go through 2 sets of red lights at crossings before its driver nearly got me squashed after moving across the lane. However a stiffly worded email to the company's transport manager has resulted in a profuse apology turning up this morning.

  • great sunny roll into waterloo this morning, now for an equally leisurely 15+ miler out to east london.

  • With sun definitely comes fuckwits, both on bikes, pedestrians and drivers.

Just about got squished by an oncoming red light jumping girl in a micra. Jumped the light from her side then drove straight across my path at a cross roads, 4pm decent sun but not glaring, just didn't look at all. Pedestrians at the lights were sympathetic and got two sets of witness details, so through it in as a report but as no one died nothing will come of it. From my point of view she looked like she was barely in control of her red micra's mighty 1.0 engine as it was.

  • Also so much undertaking, weaving, RLJing, pavement pounding nodders out in force with the good weather.

  • From my point of view she looked like she was barely in control of her red micra's mighty 1.0 engine as it was.

I hear that Micras are a popular car with the genuine (as opposed to be wannabe) criminal fraternity due to the fact they are the last car you'd expect to be involved in something dodgy

  • That is true.

Got an old bloke who decided to overtake me on a hill in Richmond Park with no visibility, which is wing mirror got wedged in the drop bar, propelling me 30 metres at 40km/h until I managed to break free.

He carry on, took a photo of his disdainful face.

    Police reporting time, oh joy.
