I'm really happy with the Apidura after a couple of 300k rides. Glad I got the tri bag to go with it for storing phone and wallet though. I might mod a key clip in that though.
There were a few other people with bikepacking seat bags on one of the rides so clearly it's taking off with the audax crowd. Need to start thinking about handlebar bags next.

What's the current thought on big saddlepacks? Doing L2P again this year and I'll really prefer to avoid having to take a bag again. Alpkit? Bikepack.pl?
Or if anyone has anything for sale...

• #1389
I've got the smaller standard Apidura one - lightweight, stable, does the job - can't complain
-
• #1390
What do you need to take?
-
• #1391
apidura's are great but pricey... https://www.apidura.com/shop/?sort=saddle
have also used one of these - quality not as good as the above, but more than suitable for a short trip
http://bikepack.pl/en/am sure the alpkit ones are good too
if you going to use it more in the future, i'd prob pay the extra 15/20 quid and go for the apidura.

As little as possible, but enough for 3 days of civilian clothes. Light shoes, shorts, couple of t shirts etc plus all the usual travel stuff.
-
• #1393
I would choose revelate or bikpack.eu over alpkit if youve got the time to wait for it as they're higher quality.
Wildcat bag I haven't seen in real-life but I love the drybag system of my BRP so might be worth a punt

I used the bikepack.pl one for a long weekend last year - it was good and stable BUT the velcro wore a rather embarrassing hole in my bibs that I didn't notice till it was almost too late! Haven't used it since, but I think I'll have to find some way to cover up the "hook" bits that were attached to me rather than the "loops"!

Okay yeah.
If you can get Revelate Design bag, as it's original, but from USA.
If not get Apidura, it's basically a carbon copy but uglier and cheaper as UK.
As laner says don't bother with alpkit.Get the larger size. Might as well.

Charlie the bike monger does revelate if you don't want to wait / worry about shipping and custom fees
-
• #1397
Bought mine in USD and had friend bring over. Was £80!
Allow £130. -
• #1398
Fair! I just bought a jerrycan from him as was slightly cheaper than buying from revelate if you count postage and no risk of custom fees
-
• #1399
Yeah, if you can't do what I did then get from there. Plus I'm properly tight if I can be.
Just saved a load of money really. That's why I said go apidura, as it saves the money but is a bit uglier! -

Revelate in the UK here: http://www.backcountrybiking.co.uk/product-category/revelate-designs-gear/
yeah that looks good for some lilo racing down rivers
