• Hi, I have to part with this cherished bike.
I got the frame with a random selection of bits and the paint was in such bad condition I took it to Armourtex for a powdercoat and did a full rebuild. I just didn't have the money to splash out on a full respray from argos or such like.

I've barely ridden it due to lack of time the past couple of years and I now need to space and the money.

excuse the cheapo black high-rise stem, a bit ugly but comfy.
    Part list:
Old but very smooth headset (recently repacked)
    Turbo saddle (old saddle)
    Shimano canti brakes
    Velo Orange mudguards
    ITM 44cm bars
Seatpost, it's got a V logo on it, can't remember what it was, pretty standard 27mm.
    Campag Mirage front derailleur
Nice looking bottle cage, there's mounts for another under the down tube.
    Sram Apex Groupset (+£300 installed)
Mavic Aksium wheels + Conti Gator Hardshell tires (+£140)
    Shimano SPD pedals (+£30)

Bad points: I suspect a small crack on the drive side drop out, may have to take it to a frame builder to have a look at it.

I would like £250£160 for the partial build listed above, £700 including all the modern parts that are practically brand new.

Would make a great audax/light touring bike or a great porteur/town bike. Could also be quite good for cyclocross, but you might want some other forks with more clearance.

  • Update:
I've used most parts on my GF's bike.
I'm now selling the frame with it's mudguards, a smooth headset, F/R brakes, seatpost and beater saddle (not Turbo pictured), Shimano cable stoppers for brifters.
    All that, for £200!

  • price drop, £170

  • Jesus christ! price drop £160

  • that's lovely, alas alack for I am skint.

Take some more pics, minus stem and hold yer guns. It's a bargain frame only at that price!

  • Sympathy bump.

  • That is a beaut! Sadly too big for me, but good look getting rid. Or sell summat else and keep it?

  • I will do, stem really ruins it

  • Do you have a serial number? This would help date the frame

  • Nice frame. 531ST with a pc paintjob is a Bike for Life. You can do it all with a frame like this, would make a great commuteur hack, front rack mounts too. Begging for a dynamo hub and upright bars.

    GLWS

  • yeah, had I space for it, I'd take the shot.

  • FFS just bought a croix de fer frame. Such a bargain

  • So tempting. Any more pics of just the frameset?

  • Lovely! do you know the frame number?

  • PM'd the other day, is this guy still available?

  • yes still available, just replied to your pm's, sorry been quite busy, I'll take more pics later

  • Hey, Can I see a picture of the dent?

  • Pictures

  • If that's a crack it looks scary.
Do bring it to a frame builder for a checkup.

  • I would, I doubt it would cost very much, just a case of heating is up and fill in the crack. It's just a shame about the paint.

  • still available, £155
Brakes, Mudguards, headset, seatpost all in almost new condition included.

  • £145, or swap for a similar frame designed for caliber brakes. Can't do any lower than that, I'll just keep it for decoration (please don't let me do that!)

  • This will be on sale at lmnh's bike jumble tomorrow, pop by if you're interested.

  • Bike jumble was a waste of time, almost no-one turned up. I want to see this gone, so big price drop for someone who will get it fixed and build something beautiful with it.
    £120
